The sprint across wet sand, the snorting in the waves, the nose buried in seaweed - none of that happens on a patch of grass by your block. The Polish coast is getting friendlier to dogs every year; you just need to know where to base yourself and when to go.
Best seaside towns with a dog
This is not a ruler-straight ranking - each place has its own character. Pick what suits you and your dog.
- Hel Peninsula (Hel, Jastarnia, Jurata) - beaches on both sides of the spit, wild stretches and a designated dog beach in the northern part of Hel. Ideal if your dog loves space.
- Łeba - a resort with two dog beaches and the shifting dunes nearby. Plenty of room for long walks beyond the sand.

In summer, mind your dog's safety: sand in full sun gets very hot, and a dog at play will not signal exhaustion. Hit the beach early morning and evening, provide shade and fresh water, and do not let your dog drink sea water. If you spot signs of overheating, cool the dog gradually and get to a vet.
